The two ways to get to the Isle of Lewis are either by ferry or by plane.
Plane
The plane can be booked through Logan Air. You can fly direct to Stornoway airport from Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Benbecula. Once in Stornoway airport it’s a 40-45 minute drive to The Decca. There’s car hire available at the airport. There’s also a bus service which stops just a couple of minutes walk from us. It’s best to book in advance due to the flights filling up quickly as well as the prices increase the closer you are to your travel date.
Ferry to Stornoway
The ferry can be booked through Calmac. You would get the ferry to Stornoway from Ullapool. It is highly advised to book your ferry as soon as possible due to the ferries filling up extremely quickly. The ferry has limited vehicle space especially during the summer. During the summer ferries are filled up several weeks before departure date. If you’re not bringing a vehicle you can generally get a ticket at short notice much more easily. The closest ferry terminal is located in Stornoway and is a 40 minute drive from The Decca. There’s also a bus service which stops just a couple of minutes walk from us.
Ferry to Tarbert
There is also a ferry which arrives in Tarbert, Harris, this ferry departs from Uig, Isle of Skye. The Tarbert ferry terminal is around 1.5 hours drive from The Decca. There’s also a bus service which stops just a couple of minutes walk from us.
